Burlesque Classes
Here’s your chance to learn the fine art of Burlesque in the beautiful surroundings of The Regency Hotel.
Honey Moon and Baby Bones will be your tutors. Honey has been teaching burlesque for many years and has seen many of her pupils go on to be regulars on the Burlesque circuit. A performer herself she has the experience to help you to develop your self confidence in a fun & easy going environment. The classes are split into the sections below.
In the past many of our students have gone on to perform at Baby Bones’ very own Burlesque club night, Club Smooch, at the Komedia. We also have our own Regency Burlesque Review nights at the hotel for much smaller invite only guests at which you may be invited to perform. So ladies, pick up your heels and come along!
Next course begins on the 7th of October, then every Thursday evening at 7.00pm
The full course is £85 which also includes a glass of bubbly and finger buffet at every class.
Class 1 - Introduction
This will be a chance to get to know each other and to let you all know what we will be getting up to throughout the course. We will also be looking at a brief history of burlesque, Honey Moon and Baby Bones will both do a demo for you to watch and enjoy!
Class 2 - Working with Props
This week you will be playing with different props that can be used during a performance, such as chairs parasols, hats etc...
Class 3 - Costume
Honey will be showing some of the lovely costumes she has created and uses to perform in. We will then get down to teaching you how to make and create some of your own.
Class 4 - Image, theme, stage presence
Miss Bones will be showing us a performance after which we will then go through all of the do’s & don’ts of an act, between us we have 12 years experience performing and can’t wait to share some of the things we’ve learnt with you . During this class we will be starting to look at inspiring and creating an act for you each perform. (Performing isn’t compulsory so don’t worry if you don’t want to)
Class 5 - Vintage styling
We especial enjoy this weeks class as we get to do classic makeup and hair styles from the 40’s and 50’s, and building up different looks from these basic retro styles.
Class 6 - The finer forms of strip tease
We will be looking at showing you the art of cleverly and seductively removing items of clothing in many different styles. Don’t worry you wont have to take all your cloths off, unless you want to of course.
The last 2 classes are for those of you who have been with us through out the course.
Class 7 - Working on your acts
We'll be putting all you've learnt together over the weeks and running through how to pull together your individual Burlesque acts ↦ fine tuning the theme you’ve been working on.
Class 8 - Show time!
This is so much fun, this week we all get to perform for each other and after 2 months of working together it’s quite a party night to round off. You can join in as much or as little you want too.
If they have time and the bubbly hasn’t all gone some of our friends may pop in to talk to us and show us some of the specialist works that they do.
